Working with the LEP we created Business Pulse a space for businesses to find and rate support in Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly.
Connecting business with the support they need
In 2012, Made Open delivered a strategy document to Cornwall Development Company, outlining a ‘vision for Business Support Services in Cornwall’.
Our vision was to simplify the business support offer by allowing businesses to access what they need when they need it, where businesses are the drivers of change not than the objects of it.
We proposed achieving this via a web/mobile platform, which we subsequently created for the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership –
Business Pulse is a business development environment – a place where businesses and business support providers meet, where business-to-business exchanges occur, where the business sector has an opportunity to represent itself on a daily basis.
Our co-discovery workshops with both businesses and business support providers highlighted some differences of opinion between business support providers and the businesses they are representing. Nevertheless, both emphasised the need for real-time practical support, encouragement from peers, more distinctive representation of business support available and a personalized support offer. Business Pulse is an important first step towards achieving this.
The platform is content managed by the content owners, with marketing and moderation performed on their behalf by Made Open.
We continue to support the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership by developing bespoke campaigns such as advice on Public Sector Procurement.
Currently, businesses in Cornwall can access over 300 business support services using Business Pulse.
